　「基本的なルールは、『陰口を叩かない』『避妊をする』『法律を遵守する』という３つだけ。細かいことは言わずユルく暮らしています」

　そう話すのは、シェアハウス「渋家（シブハウス）」の住人の１人、斎藤恵太さん。渋家に暮らすのは男女２０人のアーティストやクリエイター志望者たち。バイト生活などで金銭的に恵まれない彼らが自らの住居と制作場所を確保するために、家をシェアしたことがそもそもの始まりだ。

　「単に経済的なメリットだけでなく、多彩なジャンルのメンバーが同居しているため、それぞれの友人や知人とも交流が広がり、幅広い人脈が構築できるのも大きいですね。ホームパーティを定期的に開催したり、各メンバーも制作や展示を行っているので、毎日賑やかで楽しいです」

　５８万円もの高額家賃も２０人で住めば、１人当たり３万円。毎月２０万円近くかかる光熱費は均等割りする。家賃を払えないメンバーがいる場合は、金銭的に余裕のある者が一時的に立て替える。

　「週に１回はみんなで集まって“家族”会議をしたりします。また、寝床も人数分はないのですが、２つあるベッドやリビングの布団は早い者勝ちということで」

　ただ、２０人の大所帯だけに個人スペースもプライバシーも一切ないことはデメリットなのでは？

　「もう慣れましたね。メンバー内に３組あるカップルが、ほかの人が寝ている横でセックスをしていることもありますから（笑）」
